Huge Thanks to Scotmid Community Grants for 2025

Scotmid are definitely on Santa's good list for providing us with £500 in vouchers to help with the 2025 Market & Light Switch On.

The 2025 event was a great success raising over £5000 which will be reinvested into the maintenance, storage, replacement and purchasing of more lights to make D'Mains Shine event brighter.

Around 4000 visitors came through the marketplace on the day, we had 51 different vendors selling a huge range of gifts, crafts, sweet treats, art, Jewellery, beauty products, clothes, hot food and drinks and more.

Our Stage welcomed 167 performers throughout the event providing festive cheer through carols, dance, songs, jokes and drama performance and 110 children visited with Santa in his Grotto.

The impact from the grant was felt across the event and the vouchers were used to buy lots of goodies including. refreshments for our volunteers during our craft prep session, set up and breakdown. In addition to the committee we have a bank of up to 80 additional volunteers who help before, during, and after the event.

Scotmid also purchased the selection boxes for Santa to gift the children who visit him in his grotto, giant marshmallows and chocolate digestives for roasting and making smore's at our firepit and some hamper items for our prize raffle.

Fantastic Support from Clockwork Removals & Storage

We're all packed up for another year, thanks to Clockwork Removals and Storage.

We are very grateful to the team at Clockwork Removals and Storage for providing us with a safe place to tuck away all our lights throughout the year.

It's a lot of kit that makes D'Mains Shine at Christmas including 3 huge trees, 8 small trees, over 1km of twinkly lights, Santa's Train, safety lighting and more.

By providing safe collection, storage and delivery of all our kit each year Clockwork supports the Davidson's Mains Christmas Lights allowing us to focus on making D'Mains more sparkly every year!

As if that wasn't enough, this year they went event further. At the 2025 event they sponsored our Bar and Mulled Wine station by providing the funds for the supplies to make our fantastic, festive hot treat for the grown ups.

The Holy Cross Church for the use of their lovely grounds and hall.

Davidsons Mains Parish Church, The 30th Craigalmond Scout Group , The Pink Panther Explorers and Davidson’s Mains Children’s Gala for their ongoing support and loan of equipment to make it all possible.

Davidson's Mains Primary School for providing beautiful artwork to display, Service Graphics for producing our festive promotional banners and Clockwork Removals for safely collecting and storing our Christmas Lights and equipment.
